Congratulations to HM Queen Elizabeth ii. on the occasion of Her Platinum Jubilee

The official Platinum Jubilee portrait of Her Majesty The Queen at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth ascended the British throne on 6 February 1952, and this year she celebrates 70 years on the throne. In British history, no monarch has reigned longer than Queen Elizabeth II. She is a worldwide much-loved, admired and respected personality.
During her extraordinary reign, she has travelled further than any other monarch and made many historic overseas visits. The Queen is known for her sense of duty and dedication to a life of service to the British nation and the Commonwealth. In times of enormous social change, she is an important symbolic figure for the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the whole world.
On her twenty-first birthday, 21 April 1947, Princess Elizabeth was with her parents and younger sister on a tour of South Africa. In a speech broadcast on the radio from Cape Town, the Princess dedicated her whole life into the service of the British Nation and the Commonwealth:

"I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong."

Princess Elizabeth, 1947

On the Queen's Accession Day on 6th February 2022 she renewed her pledge:

"As we mark this anniversary, it gives me pleasure to renew to you the pledge I gave in 1947 that my life will always be devoted to your service. As I look ahead with a sense of hope and optimism to the year of my Platinum Jubilee, I am reminded of how much we can be thankful for."

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 2022
